The company was founded in 1955 by Garumuni Peter De Silva. He came from a small town named Balapitiya in Sri Lanka. In the early 1950’s he sold cinnamon out of a wooden cart and grew it to a sizable local business. His hometown was heavily involved in the cinnamon trade and as a very trusted and respected guy in the community, he realized he’ll have success in this business. His goal was to introduce Ceylon Cinnamon to the world and help local farmers.
After Peter’s incredible start, we continued growing the business after moving to the U.S to do international business. We started off selling locally in downtown LA which led to expanding our product portfolio into other spices. We consider our defining characteristics as family oriented and genuine.
Now we have retail packages available at El Super, Northgate, Superior, 99 cent stores, Vallarta Supermarkets and Super King Markets. We have also earned the title as the top cinnamon importer/exporters.
